the rent collector

the book for march is The Rent Collector by Cameron Wright. we will meet on april 2nd to discuss.
**UPDATE**
so, I've heard from sooooany people (and lots of  pinterest posts) that this book is AWESOME. I found it for cheap at seagull book, and put it in my BOOK CLUB pile. I had flipped thru it a few times, but never sat down to read it, and even after I picked it for march, I was a bit hesitant to pick it up. I'm not really sure why. As soon as I opened it, however, I could NOT put it down.
This book is set in Cambodia. And I have never been to Cambodia, or been to a big garbage dump. But the author took me to the big garbage dump in Cambodia. I was right there with this mother and her sick child. I was there with her as she literally tried ANYTHING and EVERYTHING suggested to her.
The author captured me from the very beginning, and held fast to my attention thru the entire book. This book was interesting and a very good emotional adventure.
My Rating: PG (some adult situations: alcohol, gangs, death, war)
Language: NONE. There is no bad language in the book.
Recommend: HIGHLY. This is a great book for discussion.
